Gutter cleaning in Haslingden and across Rossendale

Blocked gutters are the single most common cause of damp walls on older Lancashire housing stock. I clear them properly, from the inside out, and check the water is actually running away before I pack up.

What the job involves

I clear gutters using a high reach vacuum system operated from the ground, so there is no ladder leaning against your fascias and no boots on your roof. The vacuum lifts out moss, silt, leaves and nesting material, and a camera on the pole lets me show you what was up there and what it looks like once it is clear.

Where a run is packed solid, or a downpipe has blocked at the shoe or a bend, I will clear it by hand from a ladder rather than leave it half done. Downpipes are rodded and flushed so the water gets all the way to the drain, not just past the first joint.

Terraced and stone built properties around Haslingden, Helmshore and Rawtenstall often have deep, older gutter profiles that silt up quickly. Most homes here benefit from a clear once a year, usually in late autumn once the leaves are down.

Why it's worth doing

The benefits of gutter cleaning

Stops damp and internal staining

Overflowing gutters soak into stonework and show up as damp patches on inside walls.

Protects fascias and soffits

Standing water rots timber and warps plastic trim, which costs far more to replace than to clean.

No ladders against your house

Ground based vacuum work means no damage to gutters, fascias or your borders.

You see the result

I check the flow before I leave and will happily walk you round the property.

FAQs

Gutter Cleaning FAQs

How often should I have my gutters cleaned? +

Ideally twice a year, although once a year is usually enough for most properties.

Can you reach three storey properties? +

Yes. I can safely reach properties up to 40 feet high, including gutters above extensions and conservatories.

What happens if you find a leaking gutter? +

If I find a small leak or a minor issue, I can usually carry out the repair for an additional agreed cost.

Do I need to be at home while you carry out the work? +

Yes. At the moment I need access to electricity to power the gutter vacuum system.
